Gordon should have junked ID cards the minute he came to power. Instead he can’t make his mind up. So it’s being junked bit by bit. It will be introduced this year for foreigners but not implemented for the rest until after the next election.
Both proposals are daft. Will foreigners have to produce it or can they just say, “I’m a pom”? Who’s to know the difference?

Will we be including ID cards in our manifesto and telling people vote Labour to get a hugely expensive waste of money? Doesn’t bear thinking about.

Geoff Hoon (former Euro MP) has written to the troops to tell us that the agenda of the “Eurosceptic fanatics” (he could mean me. Must ask him) is withdrawal from the European Union.

T’aint’ true Geoff. The people who really weaken the union are those who push its demands on the British people, without a referendum.

That ensures that it’s resented, disliked, mistrusted, and never puts down firm roots.

When you’ve foisted the new constitution on us with the help of lies and Lib Dems how can you try to resist the inevitable erosion of our red lines, the break up of NATO to make way for the European army, the increase in our contributions from ½% GDP to 1%, the failure to ease the burden of the CAP, and the enforcement of expensive targets for renewables on this country? Or will membership be so important you’ll accept it as you have this cartload of rubbish?
