Obama promised to text Linda (and 13 million others) with the name of his VP before he told the lesser ledia. The text came at 2.45am. it was on TV at 7am. Sadly we were asleep for both.

I've got to enter the Olympic humble pie eating race. Labour's policy of doling out lottery money to pay athletes a salary to train and develop worked, and produced Britain's best medal count ever. A triumph. Now we must increase the money and the numbers for the four year run up to London.

Good choice Biden for Democratic Vice Pres, though as tension mounted I was thinking he should choose Hilary.
Biden has been a senator for thirty years but 23% have never heard of him. He's got good working class credentials and gave a good populist speech in Springfield though he said, "this is no ordinary time" (used by FDR in the 1940 convention) too often. Yet it made Obama's offering look like the apprentice watching the master.

George Bush has developed Government by mountain bike. Whenever there's a crisis - Lebanon, Georgia he's on his mountain bike. George is the President who's never there. He's spent 469 days of his presidency on his ranch in Crawford and 450 days at Camp David. You might think the less time he spends in Government the better things will be. Not so because he leaves Cheyney to mind the shop and create the messes.
Now it's coming to a sad end. Already it's as if the lame duck had never quacked as absence fades into non existence and the kid mountain bikes out of history as if he'd never been there. Except for the damage.
