Whither Blair PDF Print E-mail

Whither Blair? The whithering has begun. Tony takes the Chiltern Millions. It might upset his constituents who’ve been grievously used. That’s up to them but it casts doubt on all our professions of loyalty and commitment to our constituencies. It’s like a marriage. Tony’s quickie divorce makes him a user, not a lover, and upsets the majority just as dumping a frumpy middle aged wife upsets the married.

Harold Wilson didn’t give up his seat. He used to come and sit on the bench and chat. But Tony probably can’t find his way to the House without an official driver to bring him. He may not know what to do when he gets there. Perhaps people don’t want to chat to him about the old days but to ear bash on Iraq.

Let’s face it. We’ve not been worthy of him. We’ve not much in common. We’re not rich. We can’t expect him to slim around with common MPs now he doesn’t need us anymore.

The Commons gives up what was meant for mankind. We donate it to Middle Eastern Futility. Tony can’t achieve anything because he’s got no power, so he’ll be a Paddy Ashdown Marque.

What began in excitement ends in embarrassment. Sad but Ave atqui Vale atqui. Yo Blair.
