Damilola Taylor’s case sums up Britain.
Damilola died saying “I’m alright”. His father asked after the trial “What a mess. What kind of country is this?”
To Blame?
(i) Sian Hodges of the Forensic Science Service (now fired) – so competent she missed blood stains on the accused’s trainers.
(ii) The Sun who got the rent boy witness for the prosecution so greedy for Sun loot that he thought he’d earn a bit more by seducing a juror. This reduced the jury to 11 and made it incapable of giving a 10-2 verdict which would have ended the case.
(iii) The mum of the brothers who washed their clothes. There may be some decency in the family. The gran refused to give the eldest lad an alibi.
(iv) The two jurors who hung out, particularly for the older brother. They should be. |
